It’s Been a While!

July 18th, 2007 at 9:49 am (Gaeana, Uncategorized)

I just realized today how long it has been since I’ve posted. Don’t worry, there are lots more episodes coming for First Person Perspective.

Free time has all been spent developing Gaeana, rather than editing down recordings for the podcast. However, the two will coincide in the future… most of the Alpha testing sessions for Blu20 and Gaeana were recorded and will be posted in the future.

Thanks for your continued patience, and make sure to check out www.Gaeana.com for information on my major project!

Further Gaeana developments…

January 3rd, 2007 at 9:59 am (Gaeana)

Check out the new Gaeana web site at www.gaeana.com! It’s still in early stages, but will be a great resource & so much easier for me to update and maintain.
Playtesting for Gaeana is proceeding very well. We actually had a great New Year’s Eve game which included one character hiding in a pot-bellied stove while others ignited and aided the burning of a rich Timon’s home.

The Blu20 system is progressing well. There have been countless modifications to the Perfect20 source. In fact, the material has nearly doubled its original size with the new additions, corrections and changes. Many things in Perfect20 were assumed — such as combat maneuvers including attacks of opportunity. I saw this as an opportunity to pare-down some aspects of the d20 system which were either complicated or illogical. We’ll see how things go…

Blu20

November 7th, 2006 at 11:52 pm (Gaeana)

I recently found a great OGL RPG game system, Perfect 20. It incorporates many of the ideas I’ve looked for in other game systems and wrapped it up in a nice concise system. I immediately thought how great it would be for playtesting Gaeana. However, there were many things that needed revision. The process began.

I’m very happy with the current changes. I’ve given the project a name. Blu20. Maybe not the most original, but it suits my purpose. In fact, I’ve even created its logo (or at least the first draft). Attached to this post is the logo, in GIF format.

I’ll post more details about the system… what it is and what it will become… soon.

Core Story

October 18th, 2006 at 11:05 am (Gaeana)

During our campaign planning session one of the more design-oriented players asked about the core idea in Gaeana. I didn’t really have a good answer for him. I was really at a loss to provide a good succinct reason for the existance of Gaeana and choosing it as your campaign setting. However, after looking through my notes and the extensive write-ups I’ve done so far, I have finally determined the core story of Gaeana.

Playtesting!

October 18th, 2006 at 10:45 am (Gaeana)

The current (very pre-release) version of the Gaeana Campaign Setting is currently being playtested! Yay! The group of players is great and we have a very interesting cast of characters… Two humans, a sil, a toka and to vos. I’m very excited.

Sorry it has been so long since I’ve posted. Life happens. However, I have been busy working on a new Gaeana Wiki! It isn’t yet linked from the main Gaeana page, but you can find it here first! Visit www.Gaeana.com and check it out!

Thoughts on Gaeana…

April 24th, 2006 at 5:35 pm (Gaeana)

A friend visited Gaeana‘s site recently and asked, “what is that Gaeana thing?”

That’s when I realized, maybe I’m missing a vital point in the development of Gaeana… I need to really define the setting. I want to make it truly three-dimensional.

Right now for those of you who aren’t in a gaming group playing in the setting, you really have no clue what Gaeana is all about…

Here’s the lowdown… Read the rest of this entry »

Episode 001 – Alric’s Tale

April 2nd, 2006 at 10:50 am (Gaeana)

Alric is a young man who grew up in a safe town. His father was a cobbler, his mother a seamstress. Alric grew up to become a paladin… a holy warrior. Not fighting to convert, but fighting to save. This is his tale… in his words.
